The London Half
There is a street behind Harrods that most people walk straight past. Basil Street is quiet in the way only Knightsbridge manages, a few doors from the busiest shop in London and entirely separate from it.
David Levin opened The Capital here in 1971 as a grand hotel in miniature, and London has been calling it the first boutique hotel ever since. His family ran it for forty-six years before it joined Warwick Hotels & Resorts.
Downstairs is Tom Brown, who cooked in this room years ago under Nathan Outlaw and returned in 2025 with his name over the door to win a Michelin star. Two nights here in a suite, with breakfast, Champagne afternoon tea, and dinner at his table.
